Product Manager Servo & Motion Controller 

 

Responsibilities                                                                                               
  • Manage the entire product line life cycle within Americas region for Servo, Motion Control products, from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Liaison between factory in Japan and field, developing product/functional specifications and obtaining new product scope/collateral for local market lunch. Including coordinated system launch leadership, market penetration strategies, and execution of marketing mix. 
  • Manages projects in conjunction with Sales, Marketing, Technical Support Group and/or third parties
  • Plans and implements new product introductions including pricing, promotion, training, demonstrations, and literature
  • Provides on-site sales support for key and target customers
  • Understands applications, products, systems, and business issues of potential customers
  • Performs market, industry, and competitor research, and monitors target account activity
  • Works to give management information and ideas for increasing sales and market share
  • Liaison to factory and overseas marketing personnel to define, justify, and coordinate new product development.
  • Coordination with Supply Chain Management on sales forecasts, new product introductions, and product phase-out, in an effort to support inventory planning
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Experience and/or Education 
  • Engineering Degree, preferably 4 years EE. Mechatronics or MBA a plus.
  • 5-10 years experience developing & engineering machine automation solutions using industrial grade servo systems, motion controllers, and mechatronic systems including PLC, VFD and robotics
  • Familiarity with industrial automation market space within verticals such as F and B Packaging, Machine Tool, Automated Assembly, Material Handling and Printing 
  • Technical knowledge of motion control including: Function Blocks, IEC-61131-3, PLC open programming, simgle axis indexing, multi-axis synchronized motion, interpolation, kinematics, servo sizing and tuning, Pack-ML, and deterministic control networks (EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, ProfilNET, CC-Link IE etc)
  • 25% travel - within North America and Japan.
